RCTS CERT’s mission is to contribute to the cyber-security effort within the Science, Technology & Society Network (RCTS), through preventive and reactive actions, and by promoting a security culture.
Within this scope:

• Coordinates cyber-security incident handling in the context of RCTS’ user community;
• Provides support to RCTS users in solving cyber-security incidents, through procedure advice, looking at artifacts an coordinating actions with all parties involved;
• Gathers and disseminates information related with security vulnerabilities and issues recomendations related with potential risks and ongoing malicious activities, aiming to build a security conscience within information systems’ users;
• Promotes the creation of new CSIRT within the research & education community and cooperation between them;
• Participates development projects with national and international scope, aiming to continuously improve processes and tools used.
